Who counts as a student?
Anyone with an email address from a university or college. We check it with a one-time code, so we never ask for documents.
My university doesn't give me an email address. Can I still get it?
Yes. Write to us from the contact page with proof that you're enrolled this term and we'll verify you by hand.
Does the Student Pass renew automatically?
No. It's a single payment. We email you a few days before it ends so you can decide whether to buy another one.
What happens when my pass ends?
Your account goes back to the free plan, with files up to 30 minutes each. Your transcripts stay in your account.
Can I transcribe recorded lectures from a link?
Yes. Paste a link from YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox and many other sites, or upload the audio or video file.
How long does the student verification last?
365 days. After that we ask you to confirm your university email again.
I already pay for Pro. Can I switch to the Student Pass?
Student Passes are for accounts without an active plan. If you cancel Pro, you can buy a Student Pass once your current period ends.
How does the free semester for another student work?
Each paid Student Pass adds one free Student Semester Pass to a pool. Students who can't pay apply, we review each request, and the counter above shows how many have been funded and given.
