Dictation to text: getting clean results
Dictate for the transcript, not the typist
- Speak in full sentences and pause at the end of each one; punctuation follows your pauses.
- Spell unusual names once, slowly, or add them to custom vocabulary beforehand.
- Do not say formatting commands. Add headings and paragraphs in Word after export.
- Keep the recorder close and steady. Handling noise on a phone is louder than you think.
From recorder to finished document
- Connect the recorder by USB or share the file from the phone app.
- Upload the file here and wait for the transcript.
- Read it through, fix names and numbers, then export Word.
- Paste into your letterhead or report template and send.
