Legal Transcription: AI Transcripts of Interviews, Hearings and Dictation
Get a searchable, timestamped draft of client interviews, hearings and dictation, then review and export to Word
No account? The first 30 minutes of any file are free. Create a free account for premium on your first file.
Upload a client interview, a recorded hearing or your dictation and get an AI transcript with speaker labels and timestamps. It is a working draft for review, not a certified or official transcript. Export to Word with timestamps to cite exact moments in your notes.
How legal teams use it
Timestamps on every turn
Point to the exact moment in the recording when you quote it in a memo or brief.
Speaker labels
Rename speakers to Counsel, Witness or the person's name, and the names carry into Word and PDF.
Names and citations
Add party names, case citations and terms to your custom vocabulary so they come back spelled right.
Word export
A DOCX with speaker headings and timestamps, ready to edit, annotate and file in your matter.
How it works
Upload the recording
Audio or video of the interview, hearing or dictation, as one file.
Review and rename
Rename speakers, check names and numbers against the audio.
Export to Word
Download a DOCX with speaker names and timestamps.
Legal transcription with AI: scope and workflow
Where it saves time
- Client and witness interviews you recorded with consent.
- Recordings of hearings and meetings you are allowed to record, for preparation and review.
- Dictated memos, letters and file notes.
- Finding the moment someone said something in a long recording, by searching the text.
What it is not
It is not a certified transcript and it is not prepared by a court reporter. Whether a recording or its transcript can be used in proceedings depends on your jurisdiction and the rules of the court. Check recording consent rules before you record a call or meeting.

How recordings are handled
- Files and transcripts are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
- Recordings are processed by automated systems only. No person listens to your files.
- On the free plan, source audio is deleted automatically, usually after 7 days. On paid plans you choose how long source audio is kept, from 7 days to a year, or with no time limit.
- Deleting a transcript moves it to the Trash for 30 days. Delete forever or Empty Trash removes it at once.

Frequently asked questions
No. It is an AI transcript with no certification, and it is not prepared by a court reporter. Use it as a working draft for preparation, review and search. Where a certified transcript is required, order one from a qualified provider.
Yes, speakers are detected automatically and you rename them. Crosstalk and short answers are where labels slip, so check those passages. Speaker labels come with our premium engine: on every file with a paid plan or pass, on files transcribed without an account, and on up to 2 hours a month with a free account.
Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, processed by automated systems only, and never listened to by people. You control deletion, and paid plans let you choose how long source audio is kept. Check that your firm's policies allow an online transcription service.
The first 30 minutes of any file are transcribed free with no signup. With the Weekly Pass, a top-up or a paid plan, files are transcribed in full, so a long hearing goes up as one file.
Word (DOCX) with speaker names and timestamps is the most common. PDF works for sharing a read-only copy, and TXT for pasting into other systems. TXT downloads free on every file with a free account. Word, PDF, SRT, VTT, CSV and JSON come with your first file, the Weekly Pass, a minutes top-up or a paid plan.
