Which kinds of Belarusian it covers
- Standard Belarusian
- Belarusian with Russian influence (trasianka)
- Diaspora speakers in Poland and Lithuania
Belarusian is its own option in the language list, separate from Russian. Choose it for Belarusian speech so the transcript keeps Belarusian spelling.
How Belarusian transcripts are written
Transcripts are written in Belarusian Cyrillic, with і and ў.
In our test on read sentences, the account transcript used Belarusian letters such as ў and і throughout (распаўсюджвалі, выкарыстоўваць). The free preview mixed in a few Russian spellings, so a signed-in account gives a more Belarusian text.
What people transcribe in Belarusian
Independent media
Belarusian interviews and podcasts come back with speaker labels and timestamps.
Oral history

Tip for Belarusian recordings
If speakers switch between Belarusian and Russian, choose the language they use most. For long Russian stretches, Auto-detect can be the better choice.
Translate a Belarusian transcript
