How Serbian transcripts are written

Transcripts are written in the Serbian Latin alphabet (latinica), not Cyrillic.

Our test reading came with a Cyrillic script, but both the free preview and the signed-in transcript returned the transcript in Latin letters with č, ć, đ, š and ž (Međutim, takođe). If you need Cyrillic, convert the text after you export it.

What people transcribe in Serbian

Interviews and media

Serbian interviews come back with speaker labels and timestamps.

Meetings

Meetings become minutes with a summary in Serbian.

Subtitles

Export SRT for Serbian videos and translate them to English or German.

Tip for Serbian recordings

Serbian transcripts come back in Latin letters. If your publication uses Cyrillic, run the exported text through a Latin to Cyrillic converter; Serbian maps letter for letter.

Translate a Serbian transcript

Open a finished transcript in your dashboard, choose Translate and pick a target language from a list of 99+. You get the translated lines with their timestamps, and you can copy them or download TXT or SRT.

Translation needs an account. It is included on paid plans and the Weekly Pass, and with the first file on a free account.

Want it in one step? Translate Audio and Translate Video transcribe and translate together, and Translate Subtitles works on an SRT or VTT file.

FAQ

Can I get a Cyrillic transcript?

Not directly. In our test both the free preview and the signed-in transcript returned Latin letters. Serbian Latin converts to Cyrillic letter for letter, so you can convert the export.

Does it use ekavian or ijekavian forms?

The transcript follows what the speaker says. Check a few words if your text must follow one standard.

Is there a sample transcript on this page?

Not yet. We only publish samples made from audio we can confirm is in the public domain. We tested this language with our own test recordings, on both the free preview and a signed-in account, before adding the page.

Is the Serbian transcription free?

Yes. Serbian files run on our premium engine with speaker labels, up to 2 hours a month on a free account. You can transcribe up to 30 Serbian files a day, up to 30 minutes each, for free, and your first file can run up to an hour. Reading, copying, the full editor and TXT downloads stay free. Action items, email drafts, AI summaries and DOCX, PDF, SRT, VTT and JSON downloads come with your first file, the Weekly Pass ($9.99 for 20 hours over 7 days) and paid plans. Full-length files from $8.33/mo billed yearly.

What Serbian file formats are supported?

All common audio and video: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, AAC, OGG, MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV. Upload directly or paste a URL (YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.).
